I just reinstalled my windows yesterday, 7 made me go insane with all the unknown reason errors so I put xp again, now my internet won’t work on other browsers than internet explorer. Why? What to try to fix it? I tried Safari and Chrome, they usually work perfectly but now none of them will access any website. Why does only internet explorer work? Other programs that use internet work fine aswell.

Even when I’m not using Internet Explorer, pop-up windows of random websites keep appearing every few minutes. There’s obviously something running in the background. How do I get rid of it? Interestingly, there are no pop-up windows of my other browsers Safari, Opera, Google Chrome.
Why do I have to go through Network Diagnostics to get my internet access?

With my MacBook, I used to be able to just click Safari and the internet pops up, but the past few times, I’ve had to go through network diagnostics and click my internet source, in order to get my internet. WHy do I have to do this now?

Why is Internet Explorer not working on my computer but Safari is?

My computer can connect to the internet using Safari but not with Internet Explorer. I use Comcast cable for internet access. They came out and checked the connection and it was fine on their end.
I use Trend Micro as my firewall and anti-virus software.
