my computer guy installed this router and contected it to my computer a few years back. I just found out that it has the ability to let laptops connect to the internet through my desktop internet connection. it is still connected to my desktop. how can i make it to where it will broadcast the internet connection for laptops to pick up the wifi signal/

I am using a netgear and running on Windows 98. I am connected to my network, but when I try to go on the internet with my browser (Internet Explorer) it says, "The Page Cannot Be Displayed." And it is not my internet or router, I am on the internet on my other computer fine.

I have a Desktop down stairs connected to a modem with high speed internet and I would like to connect my upstairs one to the high speed internet as well. I have the modem connected to a router. Could I some how connect the other desktop to wifi and how? Or could I just connect another modem to another phone jack and would that modem automatically be on the high speed internet?
