ok my mom is gettin WOW cable and the computer internet and i have a lap top if i ask them to make it open connection can they do it or do i have to go and buy a wireless router myself?

Both my mom and my laptop’s internet stopped working at the same time. Our main computer’s internet works just fine. Does anyone know what we can do to fix this? We both have mac’s and we can’t pick any signals up. Any helps would be greatly appreciated!!
