If you jump onto an unsecured internet connection with your laptop (ie too cheap to pay for an internet connection and your neighbor didn’t bother to secure their wifi), are the things you searched for traceable back to you some how even though you don’t technically have an internet account? Would you have to format your hard drive or are there some sort of numbers in your computer’s basic programming that could always link you to the items you searched for?
Looking for a new laptop for basic internet usage and basic home computer work. Any suggestions?

I currently have a Dell Inspiron 8200 from about 2002. Want something faster and more powerful for internet use, managing videos and pictures and basic home and internet use. How do the different processors compare. How much hard drive space and memory would you suggest? Would like something light weight for travel.

I have an old dell compy and it is without a working internet connection…I would really like to wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows, but all the research I did on the internet was no good (on my desktop, btw). Is there any way to wipe the hard drive then reinstall windows without downloading a program off of the internet?
